What’s a birthday party without a splash of creativity? Recently, I hosted a super-fun, hands-on art workshop for a private birthday celebration, where kids got to dive into painting their own MDF fridge magnets and keychains. From rainbows and ice creams to stars and suns, these young artists turned plain MDF pieces into colorful masterpieces, creating keepsakes they could take home and actually use!
Workshop Highlights
- Whimsical Themes
Forget generic party favors—these kids got to make their own! We went with fun, kid-approved designs like rainbows, clouds, cupcakes, and sunny smiles for the magnets. For the keychains, stars were a big hit, adding a bit of magic to their everyday accessories. - Easy Customization
Each child received an MDF base and a set of vibrant acrylic paints. Armed with brushes and dotting tools, they were free to get as creative as they wanted. They mixed colors, tried out patterns, and brought their designs to life—no two creations were alike! - Fun for All Ages
This workshop was all about keeping it simple and fun. The designs were easy enough for even the youngest kids to follow, but still exciting for the older ones. Everyone left with their own handmade piece, ready to stick on the fridge or carry as a keychain. - Practical Keepsakes
MDF bases are perfect for kids’ crafts. They’re sturdy, easy to paint, and make a practical souvenir. The best part? The kids couldn’t wait to show off their creations at home!
