Diwali Paint n Munch Party: A Beautiful Blend of Art, Festivity, and Connection
Diwali, the prakashacha utsav (festival of lights), is a time for vibrant colors, lamps, and the joy of spending quality time with loved ones. At Ducks n Sharks, we added a creative twist to this celebration by hosting our Diwali Paint n Munch Party, where participants of all ages came together to express themselves through art and indulge in the festive spirit.
“Art has a way of bringing people together, breaking barriers, and building connections,” shared one of our enthusiastic participants. And indeed, the workshop was a perfect example of how creativity can unite people. From colorful MDF T light holders to beautifully painted elephant cutouts, everyone’s personal touch added a unique charm to the event.
Art, Therapy, and Festive Joy
As soon as the participants picked up their brushes, the room filled with excitement and a sense of calm at the same time. The clinking of brushes in water, the vibrant hues on palettes, and the quiet concentration of the artists brought a serene energy to the space.
Painting has a therapeutic quality, much like the shantata (calm) one feels after lighting a diwa (lamp) during Diwali. Many participants found the process deeply relaxing, allowing them to slow down and savor the moment. From detailed mandalas on panti holders to fun designs on the elephant cutouts, every creation was a beautiful expression of festive cheer.
Reliving Childhood Memories
For many, this workshop was more than just a creative exercise—it was a trip down memory lane. Diwali often reminds us of simpler times when we made akashkandil (lanterns) or painted diwyanchi panati (lamp holders) with family. One participant smiled as she mentioned how the activity took her back to her childhood Diwalis, where creativity and celebration always went hand in hand.
Our youngest participants diligently painting their Tlight holders, capturing the essence of the event. Their quiet focus and dedication reminded us of the joy that art brings at any age, making the experience even more special.
Celebrating Togetherness Through Art
At Ducks n Sharks, we believe that the process is more important than the final product. The Diwali Paint n Munch Party emphasized that idea perfectly. Every participant brought their own style, and the results were a vibrant mix of colors and designs. Rang (color) holds a special place in our hearts, especially during Diwali, and through this workshop, we celebrated the festival’s essence of spreading light and color.
What truly made this event memorable was the shared sense of community. Grandparents, parents, and children worked side by side, offering tips, sharing ideas, and admiring each other’s work. The smiles exchanged and the mutual encouragement created a warm, welcoming environment for all.
A Diwali Memory to Cherish
At the end of the session, as everyone held up their final creations for a group photo, there was a sense of accomplishment and pride. The T-light holders weren’t just painted objects—they became symbols of the joy we shared, the conversations we had, and the creative connections we made.
This event was a reminder that there’s something magical about creating together, especially during festivals like Diwali. The energy, creativity, and shared moments brought the true spirit of the festival to life.
